ABOUT RB CAPONE

RB Capone is a Northamptonshire-based rapper and songwriter, born and raised in Corby, with a growing presence across the local music scene and beyond.

His music and story have featured across BBC platforms and ITV News, alongside appearances on BBC Radio and local radio. He has performed at events including Boxpark Wembley, Steel Fest ×2 and Mayday Mayhem, building experience across live performance and community events.

Drawing on personal experiences, ambition and storytelling, RB Capone combines his love of hip-hop with a strong connection to his hometown and Northamptonshire roots.

His journey has also included collaborations and creative projects such as the East Midlands Madness Cypher, where he created and performed “Sumuva Voice”, set to feature on his upcoming November 2026 album.

THE JOURNEY

RB Capone’s journey began in 2016, when Ryan started releasing music on SoundCloud as RyanMB, later becoming Illuzion before adopting the RB Capone name in 2019.

The release of “Small Town” marked a new chapter, with Matusi (James Matusiak) joining the journey as producer a creative partnership that has continued through different eras of the music.

From albums exploring mental health to live performances, radio and media appearances, charity work and a major personal fitness journey, the years that followed brought plenty of highs, setbacks and growth.

After reconnecting with Matusi in late 2025, the project was reignited in 2026 with “Slow Down” and “Dissie”, leading into the upcoming album in November 2026.

Nearly a decade of music, growth and evolution and the journey is still moving.

2016 — RYANMB
Ryan began releasing music independently on SoundCloud as RyanMB, including early tracks such as “Be You” and “I Am RyanMB”.

2016–2019 — ILLUZION
Ryan continued developing his sound under the name Illuzion, releasing music independently and building experience as a songwriter and artist.

2019 — RB CAPONE & “SMALL TOWN”

The RB Capone name was introduced shortly before “Small Town”, a track written as a celebration of Ryan’s hometown of Corby.

The accompanying video was filmed around Corby and edited by Matusi (James Matusiak). The track gained significant local attention and helped establish RB Capone within the Northamptonshire music scene, beginning a creative partnership that would continue for years.

2020 — ILLUSIVE MINDSET

Ryan released Illusive Mindset, an album centred around mental health and personal experiences. A planned performance at Adrenaline Alley alongside an Olympic cycling team was cancelled following the COVID-19 pandemic.

2021–2022 — CAPONE ZONE

The Capone Zone project followed, with tracks including “No Mercy” and “Levels”, continuing to build RB Capone’s catalogue and presence.

2022 — A YEAR OF GROWTH

2022 marked a major period of personal and musical development. Ryan began a significant weight-loss and fitness journey, committing to months of work and personal change.

Alongside that journey, RB Capone continued building his live presence, performing at Steel Fest and Mayday Mayhem, as well as the Flash Peasants Three Day Week EP release show in Corby.

2023 — BOX PARK, CHARITY & NEW MUSIC

Ryan performed at Boxpark Wembley and took part in a charity boxing event, raising more than £300, winning his fight by second-round TKO and receiving Fighter of the Night.

2024–2025 — EAST MIDLANDS MADNESS & “SUMUVA VOICE”

Ryan took part in the East Midlands Madness Cypher, creating and performing “Sumuva Voice” — a track that will feature on the upcoming November 2026 album.

2024–2025 — A QUIETER CHAPTER

As the wider album project developed, things eventually became quieter creatively. The project was put on hold while Ryan continued writing, creating and developing personally and musically.

LATE 2025 — REIGNITING THE PROJECT

Ryan and Matusi reconnected towards the end of 2025, bringing their creative partnership back together and reigniting the album project that had begun taking shape years earlier.

2026 — THE NEXT CHAPTER

The project returned with “Slow Down” in May 2026, followed by “Dissie” featuring fellow Northamptonshire rapper Ell.MS in September 2026.

With the album scheduled for November 2026, a project that began taking shape with tracks such as “Bipolar” in 2023 is finally entering its next chapter.
